The first Animation Directors Round Table Meeting ever, which was last night, was absolutely great. We went over everyone's projects and goals and talked about whatever issues we were having. Everyone was very supportive and encouraging to each other, we set goals for the next meeting, talked about technical issues, and decided upon meeting frequency, and we had some nice booze and trail mix at the same time at the lovely Overlook Lodge . The Overlook Lodge- as a bonus, our table for the Round Table session was actually round . They were also playing Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the screens. I think we need to have another meeting here sometime... After the official business was done we listened to some great live music and talked to each other about various artsy topics.  There were a few new faces who I hope we see again, and a few returning ones that I always love to see! We decided to hold the meetings monthly. To make it easy lets set it on the first Wednesday of each...

Announcement! We are starting an Animation   Director's Round Table meeting in Cincinnati that will recur regularly. The people who will want to attend this group are people who are making their own independent animated films who are in the Cincinnati area. The purpose of the meeting is to provide accountability, get critiques from other filmmakers if you want them, show your work, and get assistance with any technical- or any other- issues you're having with your production from others that are going through the same thing.  For example if you're getting an error in some program, someone may be able to help. if you're having trouble with motivation, we can help with that too. It's really a support group for indie animators. And hopefully we can learn from each other as well. I have a couple of people who are interested already, myself included.
