Animation Director's Round Table, Aug 3 2016 7pm

To all animation filmmakers:

The first meeting of the Animation Director's Round Table will be this Wednesday August 3rd at 7pm at the Overlook Lodge in Pleasant Ridge.

Yes this is a bar modeled after The Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," how perfect is that. They also have fancy beef jerky and trail mixes in addition to booze and non-alcoholic drinks.

Give the host either my name or tell them you're with the Cincinnati Animation Network- we should be in a big booth in the corner. Yay so excited! Bring your stuff!

If you haven't RSVP'd yet please do, just send me an email at cincycan@gmail.com

They are both an offer that will hopefully lead to a leap of faith in the form of a "yes" on the proposee's part. The proposer puts thought into the presentation and tries to emphasize the positive in order to influence a "yes."   When saying yes to a marriage proposal, the target is trusting that you will be awesome to be married to and that you will not waste the life you are requesting. And in a project proposal, the target is trusting that you will be awesome at completing the project you are proposing and that you will not waste the money you're requesting.  Before any money changes hands or work starts there needs to be a proposal at least. The proposal is like a contract, only it's more informal. I tend to use proposals, but if I were dealing with larger projects where my risk is greater I would use a contract. Contrac

First Directors Round Table Meeting Recap

The first Animation Directors Round Table Meeting ever, which was last night, was absolutely great. We went over everyone's projects and goals and talked about whatever issues we were having. Everyone was very supportive and encouraging to each other, we set goals for the next meeting, talked about technical issues, and decided upon meeting frequency, and we had some nice booze and trail mix at the same time at the lovely Overlook Lodge . The Overlook Lodge- as a bonus, our table for the Round Table session was actually round . They were also playing Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the screens. I think we need to have another meeting here sometime... After the official business was done we listened to some great live music and talked to each other about various artsy topics.  There were a few new faces who I hope we see again, and a few returning ones that I always love to see! We decided to hold the meetings monthly. To make it easy lets set it on the first Wednesday of each
