The Wind Rises March 4th
We are getting a group together to see the Wind Rises by Miyazaki on Tuesday March 4th at 7:15pm at the Esquire Theater. Tuesday is bargain day so the tickets are $6.00 each! We would love it if you could come too.
In case you don't know, The Wind Rises is Miyazaki's latest (maybe last?) film, and it is also his most controversial film because:
"Although 'The Wind Rises' has a strong pacifist message, it is essentially a biopic of Jiro Horikoshi, an aeronautical engineer whose contribution to the world was a killing machine. His designs led to the Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter, which was used to devastating effect during World War II." (...says this article from the NY Times)

We can send the Esquire the message that we want more films like this in Cincinnati! It is playing Friday the 28th through Thursday March 6th, let me know what other day works for you if you can't do Tuesday.
He's probably trying to sell her an explainer video. Business Proposals and Marriage Proposals have similarities. They are both an offer that will hopefully lead to a leap of faith in the form of a "yes" on the proposee's part. The proposer puts thought into the presentation and tries to emphasize the positive in order to influence a "yes." When saying yes to a marriage proposal, the target is trusting that you will be awesome to be married to and that you will not waste the life you are requesting. And in a project proposal, the target is trusting that you will be awesome at completing the project you are proposing and that you will not waste the money you're requesting. Before any money changes hands or work starts there needs to be a proposal at least. The proposal is like a contract, only it's more informal. The Cloud approacheth. Hey everyone! So we were talking about the Adobe Cloud changes that were coming up and we are going to put together some information in the hopes of basically petitioning Adobe to not suck. Since then I have found and signed this petition: https://www.change.org/petitions/adobe-systems-incorporated-eliminate-the-mandatory-creative-cloud-subscription-model It also has more information about it that I read first like faqs from adobe etc. I don't feel like just signing an online petition will necessarily do anything though, but it can't hurt. Posemaniacs - I went to Christina Wald's class at NKU last week and had a nice time- we were talking about drawing and gesture drawing and one of the students mentioned this website- I checked it out and it looks pretty useful. There are timed poses that you can use to practice gesture drawing at home, and the figures are flayed so you can see their musculature. Also you are able to rotate the figure as needed to understand better why certain things look the way they do- and enable or disable a grid overlaying the image. Very cool!
